SC Farm Report on Wednesday
Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: No comparisons made this week on
feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales. Feeder Steers: Medium and
Large 1 400-500 300.00-319.00; 500-600 lbs 304.00. Feeder Bulls: Medium
and Large 1 400-500 lbs 312.50-318.00; 500-600 lbs none reported. Feeder
Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 500-600 lbs none
reported. Slaughter cows were 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-
80% lean 138.00-150.00; Boners 80-85% lean 137.00-149.00; Lean 85-90%
lean 126.00-135.00; Lean Low Dressing 87.50-121.00. Slaughter bulls were
too few to trend. Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1865-2080 lbs
165.00-168.00; High Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 995-1350 lbs
105.00-141.00.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 930 lbs Young Age Cow with calf
under 300 lbs 2025.00 per pair. Small 1 775 lbs Middle Age Cow with calf
under 300 lbs 1325.00 per pair.
Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.03 lower at 67.99.
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 49.68; 450-500 lbs 55.80; 500-550 lbs 57.45.
SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn was 3 cents lower; elevator bids 3.94-
5.09, processor bids 4.74-4.89. Soybeans were 2 cents lower; elevator
bids 10.27-11.27, processor bids 12.12, and export 12.27. New crop wheat
bids were 3 to 12 cents lower; elevator bids 4.54-5.86.
Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.96
higher at 71.19.
