Corporate Culture

HEARTLAND CO-OP CORPORATE CULTURE

Profitability - We at Heartland believe that profitability is important for the continued existence of our organization and without that financial lifeblood of any organization survival quickly comes into question.  We at Heartland take it another step and believe our existence is directly derived from our ability to add to the profitability of our customers.  Without that combined focus, our future is in jeopardy.

Ethical/Honest - We at Heartland believe that business should always be conducted in an honest, fair, and truthful manner upholding high ethical standards.  We want our customers to respect and trust us and know that we will deliver on what we said we would.

Confront Brutal Facts - We at Heartland believe in facing the realities of our situation and then act on the implications of those facts.  It is impossible to make good decisions without knowing the honest details of the situation.  We will not allow ourselves to have false hopes or to "bury our heads in the sand."

Empowerment with Accountability - We at Heartland believe that employees need to be empowered to make as many decisions on their own as possible.  We further believe that employees are to be held accountable and take ownership for not only their area but the results of the entire organization.  Each individual employee has an impact on the success of the entire company.

Growth Oriented - We at Heartland believe that growth of our organization is desirable.  Although size in itself does not produce success, growth opportunities that aid in bringing advantages to the company will be embraced.  We believe that an organization that is not looking to grow internally or externally will not be in control of their destiny.

Continuous Improvement - We at Heartland believe that we can never be satisfied with the current situation.  We cannot rest on our past laurels, but rather we must seek incremental improvement in every aspect of our company. The future of our company needs to be viewed as a journey of excellence that does not have a final destination.
